Synopsis

Some seventeen-year-olds are just different. Some aren't understood. Some want their lives to be different. And then a select few of those do something about it. And then some change their name to numbers, seek binary perfection in the beat-down sun of the Florida Keys, unintentionally morph into a multi-dimensional practically-freaking-omniscient super being, and save the world entire. Or at least one did. This is the story of 1-0-1-1-0 and his journey from Southeastern United States suburbia to the Caribbean, to the Florida Keys, and ultimately to his role in the Awakening of humanity, via well-meaning space aliens and mild mad mayhem. Celebrating the full fury of life, the slightly-dystopian narrative continually builds to said Awakening of humanity, which involves the protagonist, a dolphin, an adventurer obsessed with alliteration, a shape-shifting coyote, a magical shark wearing a fedora, a semi-fallen angel, a social terrorist, an extra-terrestrial race, another shark with a gold nugget watch, a sparkly elephant, and other creatures both human and non. The darkly comic story blends detailed point of view storytelling with elements of metaphysics, science fiction, religious mysticism, metaphilosophy, social commentary on materialism, the triumph of individuality over collectivism, Native American mythoi, Ufology, marine mammology, Florida Keys hi-jinks, mayhem, self-salvation, and an earnest desire to save the world.
