About the Author

Douglas A. Puryear grew up in Texas in a family and in a culture of violence. Violence became his approach to every problem. He became a successful psychiatrist, but at home he was abusing his child. Then a major transformation occurred and he was able to break the habit of violence. He has performed prison ministry and medical missionary work. Puryear now lives peacefully in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with his lovely long term wife, Martha, enjoying fly-fishing, guitar, Spanish, writing and eight grandchildren. His previous books are Helping People in Crisis; Your Life Can Be Better: using strategies for adult ADD/ADHD; and Living Daily With Adult ADD or ADHD.
