Synopsis
A new English translation of Wilhelm Busch's German-language children's classic Max & Moritz, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the original version. A mock-cautionary tale told in rhyming couplets, Max & Moritz combines witty and darkly humorous language with Busch's fabulously rich illustrations to describe the wicked "pranks" of two mischievous boys as they wreak havoc on their peaceful village - before coming to a sticky end themselves... This new translation is presented as a "parallel" text alongside the German original so that readers can choose which version they wish to read - or compare and contrast the two.

About the Author
Mark Ledsom is a writer and journalist who first came across "Max und Moritz" while working as an international reporter for various news organisations in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. After struggling to find a decent, modern English language translation of Busch's classic, he decided to create his own - and hopes this will now help introduce more English readers to this fantastically fun little tale.
