I wrote this book in the 1980's but it was not published at that time. I was a paramedic with over a decade of service in the EMS field. I recently retired from my current career as a cardiac technician. This book was published by my daughter, Katy (who you can find mentioned in the book if you look closely) and presented to me upon my retirement. It details my experiences and trials and tribulations in Emergency Medical Services. Current EMS workers and those considering a career in EMS will find it interesting to compare current issues with those 30 years ago when EMS was a fledgling field. Some remain the same, others have changed, and new ones are present. The book is intended, however, for the general public. It is hoped it will invoke a few chuckles as well as a few tears and that you will find it informative, interesting, and even educational. You will get insights into the life of an EMS worker and the behind-the-scenes complexities and issues that effect the care available to you. You may even learn how to be a little better prepared when your own emergency occurs. I hope you will find this to be a quick but fascinating and informative read.
