The night is not all fun and games. It starts when Alan is revealed to be a sexist jerk, when he writes mysteries about a strong and confident female sleuth. It ends with fellow business owner, Sherry Schaefer, accusing Alan of misdeeds.
Riley and Sherry haven't gotten along much since he moved back to Cedar Grove. That all changes when Alan's body is discovered with a pair of her pruning shears stabbed through his chest. Sherry asks Riley to investigate, when the police zero in on her as the prime suspect.
