About the Author

Barbara Berkowitz, Marilyn Shapo, Janet Stollman, and Sandra Yoffee, retired to Sarasota, Florida. In 2005, they began their writing group and discovered a common bond even though their backgrounds were so different. They became known as The Pearls as they read their stories in the community. Barbara grew up with endless activities and an encouraging family. Marilyn was the original "latch key" kid, who surrounded herself with good friends while her parents worked long hours. Janet lived her early years in a world full of creativity and make believe nurtured by her mother, her aunts, and grandmother. Sandi grew up as a cherished only child in a world of adults.
