About the Author

Margie J. Pittman and Barbara Reed are a mother and daughter tandem. Barbara was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and has spent most of her life in the Charleston, West Virginia, area. Margie, a Charleston native, is well-known for her Coal Camp Kids trilogy chronicling her upbringing in a Campbell's Creek, West Virginia, coal camp. Knowing her mother's love for writing, Barbara called one day and said she had a book idea. Margie loved the personal, political, and Christian struggle that were woven throughout Barbara's story outline.
