Synopsis

Eight people had been married for a number of years and successfully produced a number of children and established themselves as homeowners and moderately accomplished members of their communities. After a number of years, they all come to the conclusion that their sex lives have become pretty mundane and decide that variation might be a way to spice things up for all of them. Realizing, as they do, that the normal course of wife-swapping is fraught with danger, they deliberately try to establish meaningful relationships within a closely knit circle. The relationships develop to a point which none of them envisage, and along the way, the story explores the emotions, aspirations, trauma, and terror that each of the members of eight has experienced. Although the story contains fairly graphic descriptions of their sex lives necessary in the context of the story, it also explores the difficulties faced by each of the members with their traditional family members when their relationships are discovered as a result of a near tragic accident. This is a work of pure fiction, or is it? Some of it is based on fact, and the author leaves the reader to decide between fact and fiction.

About the Author

Gordon Munn is a retired Airforce officer and school teacher, who has taught and served in Australia, Indonesia, and China. Apart from writing, he has strong interests in linguistics and horticulture, particularly in the conservation of rare and endangered species. He looks upon the human race with a mixture of amusement and occasional horror as the dictates of religion and society shape the world around him. He has two children, a girlfriend, a cat, and a collection of endangered and rare native plants. This is his first attempt at light-hearted fiction, which he sincerely hopes will not offend too many people.
