About the Author

Like George, A G Hill was born on an RAF base and moved a lot during his childhood, attending many different schools. He was also bullied at school with children teasing him about the gaps in his teeth and calling him, “tombstone”. However, in one school this rather cruel nickname became a badge of honour when friends called him “tombstone” for entertaining them with scary stories. When leaving school, A.G. vowed never to have anything to do with schools but he ended up working as a schools worker with the London City Mission! His love of storytelling was rekindled and in addition to telling Bible stories, he created many of his own. When a prolonged period of ill health forced him out of work, he turned a disappointment into an opportunity by writing this, his first novel. He now lives in Aberdeen, Scotland with his wife and an ever growing collection of classical music, film soundtracks and books.
