Synopsis

This tutorial on Critical Path Methodology (CPM)will explain and explore how: Scope, Resources and Budget are integrated into contiguous logical networks; whose logical progressions will create a mosaic of a project's life-cycle. And why CPM is not to be construed as just a planning and scheduling tool; but rather will discuss what CPM is, how it works, why its necessary and how it enables the modeling and interfacing of multiple levels of scope under contract. In effect, CPM techniques, combined with efficient resource management, cost allocation and EVM and Performance Measurement and risk assessment, have evolved to become effective aspects of program management. At a minimum, CPM will force organization of thought as the logic is developed; while at its best, CPM can help provide for a successful project: on time and within budget.
