Beverly was initially unimpressed by Skip and politely dismissed his advances. Undeterred, Skip persisted. His relentless pursuit finally wore Beverly down and she agreed to one dinner date. Dinner went well and they both agreed to pray for God's direction for their relationship. As time passed, a true friendship developed and Skip knew Beverly was the one! A few months into the relationship Skip traveled to Virginia to meet with Beverly's older brother and seek his approval to potentially marry Beverly--as both her parents were deceased.
