About the Author

Cowboy Boots or Muck Boots ... always have been my shoe of choice. An animal lover to the core, my parents didn't know what they were signing up for when they put me in a summer horse camp at the age of ten. I was hooked. Horses became my true passion. At twelve I started working at a local stable - cleaning stalls and leading trail rides. At thirteen my parents finally broke down and got me my first horse, Austie. She was a spunky bay Quarter Horse/Saddlebred cross with a perfect white heart on her forehead. I grew up on her back and I learned so much from her. And, when it came time to go to college, I packed her along too. My family and I now live in our own little piece of heaven in the Oregon countryside. We stay busy taking care of our two horses, three cows, ten sheep, fifteen chickens, and one very naughty goat.
