Learn about how to conduct a job search from someone who has personal experience and has worked in workforce development for several years. This is for the general (sometimes known as Blue Collar) as well as the corporate professional (White Collar). Are you tired of having to look in so many different places to find what to do in each part of the job search? What about finding a book that tells you that you can find a job but doesn't tell you how to do all the steps? This is where to look for information specific to the process, techniques and type of worker looking for any job, but particularly the job seeker looking for work in labor, industry or service. Given today's employment market and the incredible increase in competition all job seekers must formalize their approach. Now that there are more people than ever competing for the same job, the person who knows best all steps in the process and can present themselves well at every step is going to be the most successful. If you use the strategies outlined in this short guide, you will have a more successful job search, which means you will get a job. Build your confidence by being prepared. Develop appropriate language to use when writing a resume and cover letter and then interviewing. Learn techniques to make the job search a much easier and smooth process for yourself. These techniques can help the non-corporate worker, people with difficult histories such as being fired or a criminal history and people with disabilities as well as the corporate professionals. They can also help the person new to the job market such as recent high school or college graduates or the same people looking for part time work while attending school. Included are strategies for resumes and cover letters, applications, interviewing and overall steps of networking. There is training on how to apply networking techniques in areas not traditionally viewed as networking opportunities. And how to network right in your own community, not just on the internet. Written in an informal style that develops a relationship with the reader, this book builds confidence and increases competence and comfort with some of the rather uncomfortable and/or tedious steps of the process.
