Synopsis
In Allos: Land Behind the Moon, Henrietta leaves her home at the space station with her grandmother Yaya and their talking dogs, Howser and Samson, in a spaceship "The Luna" to rescue younger brother Alexander from the hidden land behind the moon. They meet some of the citizens of Allos from Greek mythology—Boötes the Herdsman, Cancer the Crab, Canis Major and Minor the Big and Little Dogs, Cepheus the King, Cassiopeia the Queen, Corvus the Crow, Cygnus the Swan, Draco the Dragon, Ophiuchus the Serpent Bearer, Orion the Hunter, Pisces the Fish, Ursa Major and Minor the Great and Little Bears. Four separate adventures on both sides of Eridanus the River end in a ferocious battle and a surprising way to get back home.

About the Author
Lyn Lacy wrote Allos: Land Behind the Moon when she was a young woman. She loved the astronomy books of H. A. Rey (also the creator of Curious George books) who very kindly read the story and sent her a gracious note. Years later, she found the manuscript in the attic and thought the story was still a good one. She rewrote it as her first book for young people. An early draft was one of five finalists in the 2009 children's book manuscript contest sponsored by The Writers' League of Texas in Austin. Lacy is a retired Minneapolis Minnesota Public Schools media specialist and lives with George Phenix and their dachshund Bitsy (aka Samson) in the mountains of western North Carolina. Characters Andromeda, Perseus and Hercules will be found in her next book in the series, due to be released in 2015.
