Synopsis
Jason McCord, a former private investigator, returns from a self-imposed exile in Bissau, New Guinea, to settle in Boca Raton, Florida. He meets Sheila Walker and falls into the kind of love we all wish for but seldom experience. He struggles whether to share his past with her and her son, Phil, as they become his new focus in life. Trouble begins as Phil tries to back out of a driving contract with Big Jim Horne, a prominent but unscrupulous Florida businessman and race team owner. At the same time while still in high school in Michigan, young Michael Ward and his two best friends, Aaron and Ja'rell, form MAJ Racing, a fledging but successful racing team. At their door of success knocks treachery disguised as opportunity. Lives unfold and intertwine as the past resurfaces and collides with the present through a perceived common enemy and an unknown delusionary mind. Dangerous situations develop which threaten to tear down the veil of hidden secrets and secret lives in this novel filled with friendship, alliances, deceit, betrayal, lust and love, but don't make assumptions.

About the Author
Randy L. Hilmer, an Austin, Minnesota native who is close to retiring from the corporate business world in Las Vegas, has written his second novel, "BFF SPELLS MURDER". A lifelong creative person active in music and entertainment, he has only recently turned to writing mysteries with "MURDER AMONGST FRIENDS" being his first novel. His distinctively folksy and familiar style of writing easily brings his characters to life and allows the reader to feel a part of the story. Regardless of one's interest, the reader's attention is held by endearing plots and character twists that make for compelling reading.
