About the Author

I am a nursing home nurse. I have been a state inspector of nursing homes, conducted Federal Surveys in nursing homes and investigated elder abuse and neglect for seventeen years. I have been a supervisor in a nursing home, a director of nursing in a nursing home, a consultant to nursing homes, and an educator of the certified nurse aides. I am a senior citizen. I want to ensure when the time comes, if it does, I have at least done the best I could to make life better for another in some small way. It's my way of paying it forward. I wanted this book to be short, to the point, easy to read, and user friendly. I want it to be just like me! Say what you have to say, and then get out of Dodge. I am not an expert. I don't profess to have all the answers. I absolutely do not. But I will have succeeded if you gain a bit of insight into the World of Nursing Home.
