About the Author

My Name is Peter Merchant; I was born in 1971 at Sydney Women's Hospital. I grew up in a place called Bidwill a suburb of Mt Druitt, Sydney, New South Wales. Bidwill was a very rough area to grow up in. There was a lot of crime and fights but I didn't have too much trouble because I knew most of the bad boys that were around those days. At the age of seventeen I lost my brother to a car incident and two weeks after I lost my dad to a massive heart attack. My mother struggled with cancer until I was twenty; she could not fight no more and passed away. After my mother's funeral I met back up with a girl "Jo-Ellen" I had a crush on since I was a little boy, we dated for two years, fell in love and got married. In 2002 we had a beautiful little angle girl whom we named Jo-Ellen after her mother. Once I had been married my life changed for the better. I always loved the idea of writing about all the funny things people get up to when they are drunk. The mates I write about are really my friends; there are very few people in this world you can really call friends. We always would sit around at my house and have a drink; once we got drunk all the funny stuff would happen and I thought to myself some of this stuff should be written in a book. Once I started writing I couldn't stop myself, I finally found something I really love to do. Now every chance I get I sit down and I write. Every time I see something amusing or something that I think would be good in a book I jot it down. And I'm always out looking for new materials for the next book. I realize now that no matter how hard life treats you or what it throws at you, you are the one that makes your destiny. So my advice is if you have a love for something and you wish to succeed. Just keep at it and one day you will successful.
