About the Author

Mark has held a variety of roles in his life. Chronologically, they include Army brat, dilettante juvenile delinquent, born-again Baptist, disaffected Baptist, high-school valedictorian, college boy, married guy, psychology graduate student, Army officer, divorced guy, mental-health caseworker, behavioral healthcare administrator, happily remarried guy, classical singer, healthcare advocate, household administrator and standardized patient. His time as a community mental-health caseworker provided him with some wonderfully intense learning experiences that fueled his initial thoughts about personal power. Those lessons, in conjunction with his spiritual journey, led him to his role of author. His continuing spiritual exploration and development provided the impetus for this book, his second one.
