About the Author

Barbara Chamberlain loves storytelling and stories. She was a children's librarian at an elementary school and a reference librarian at Harrison Memorial Library in Carmel, California and Monterey City Library. Her juvenile historicals, The Prisoner's Sword, and Ride the West Wind, were named recommended reading by the National Council of Teachers of English. The Flight of Alpha I won first place in the White County Writers competition for juvenile books and has been awarded second place in the National League of American Pen Women's 2014 Writing competition. Barbara has also written two mysteries set in the Monterey Bay area, A Slice of Carmel and Slash and Turn. These are the Jaden Steele Mystery Series. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a masters from San Jose State University. Barbara has taught storytelling and creative writing. She an her husband, David live in Aptos, California.
