Synopsis
“Jumping with Mixed Feelings” is the story of the author and his family, as he takes the reader on a nostalgic joyride through his World War II childhood in Baltimore, his youthful move to Florida, life as a Miami Herald reporter, arts critic and columnist, his long and happy marriage, and the adventures of his young family in Florida and Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he taught journalism at the University of North Carolina until retiring in 2000. The reader encounters dozens of fascinating characters and experiences, from learning about true love, covering a fire at a nudist camp, interviews with Broadway stars and the lifelong rewards of teaching at a great university.

About the Author
Raleigh Mann, Baltimore native, former Miami Herald reporter, feature writer, editor, columnist and theater and music critic, taught at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for 22 years. In retirement, Mann sings in two choirs and a large choral society and as vocalist with a dance band.
