About the Author

Playwright and fiction writer, Ezzat Goushegir has published four books in Farsi, including two collections of short stories “The Woman, the Room, and Love”- “… And Suddenly the Leopard Cried: WOMAN”, a collection of two plays “Metamorphosis" and "Maryam’s Pregnancy”, and “Migration in the sun”, a book of poetry. Her plays and short stories including “Medea Was Born in Fallujah”, “Now Smile” and “You Are Not a Man!” were anthologized in anthologies, as well as translated into different languages. Since 1987 she has been writing both in English and Farsi. Her plays have been produced by a variety of theater companies in the U.S., Canada, China, England, Sweden and Iran. Her new collection of short stories: “That Woman Reluctantly Said Goodbye” will be published in September 2013. . She currently teaches at DePaul University in Chicago.
