AUTHOR'S BIOGRAPHY Norberto C. Pautassi is a retired scientist with experience in environmental sciences and metallurgy, industrial chemistry, laboratory instrumental analysis and wet chemistry. He has developed a statistical corrector factor for a particular cast iron manufacturing process. He developed standard solutions for inductively coupled plasma instrumental analysis, analyzed hazardous substances and identified different types of asbestos, and enforced environmental laws for California EPA using general environmental chemistry. He has published chrytical letters in Science magazine and social issues. He also has given presentations on environmental subjects abroad and at California State University, Los Angeles.
