Elizabeth is an Author, and a Behavioral Scientist who blogs, researches, responds to, speaks, studies, teaches, and writes about Burn Out, Critical Stress, Defusing, and De-stressing. Elizabeth Stanfill has been in the emergency field for over twenty years. She began as a young EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), became a FTO (Field Training Officer), and then advanced to a 911 Operations Supervisor. During her undergraduate and graduate degrees she focused on CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) in the emergency field. Subsequent to her education, and simultaneously with her certification, she designed and directed a CISM Program for the Southern Pacific Region of the largest ambulance company in the United States. Elizabeth has trained thousands of emergency personnel, as well as the general population, in stress management, and stress relief. She has prepared, and trained hundreds of emergency responders in peer counseling for Critical Incidents. She is a proud Mother of a very successful son, and she lives in Southern California.
