Alex Stokes is a Stand Up Comedian, Author, and Public Speaker from Sevierville, TN. He currently resides in the Gatlinburg area with his wife Jenny and their four boys. Growing up in one of the most popular tourist destinations in America, he became familiar with the ever changing landscape and pure craziness that a tourist area possesses. This history, combined with his most recent dealings with the public, led to the creation of this book. Alex’s Stand Up career began over three years ago after a fourteen year stint as an Investment Broker and Financial Planner. Within the first year, he had won several Stand Up Comedy contests and was awarded his first Feature spot opening for a Nationally touring comedian. Also, in that first year, Alex teamed up with fellow Comedians Sandy Goddard and Jay Pinkerton, forming the “M.L.C. Comics” and touring across the country to Los Angeles. Since that incredible first year, he has performed all around the country in comedy clubs, festivals, and charity events. Alex is a true life storyteller when he’s on stage as a Stand Up Comedian. His stories often times make fun of himself, embarking upon a crazy past that includes a short time playing college basketball, his career as an investment broker, and his family. However, most of these stories usually end with an unforeseen twist, leaving the audience to laugh hysterically while shaking their heads. Alex earned his degree in Literature from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1997. This book, as Alex claims, is the first time he has used punctuation and grammar since his graduation. Even saying that he used it in this book, according to him, is a stretch. He is excited to share his stories and events in the book with anyone who is ready for a good laugh. It is his goal that each and every person who reads it finds the unorganized and unconventional style to be both refreshing and hilarious.
