Synopsis

The 21st century is considered the beginning of the postmodern era of human history. Advancements in technology have been so rapid that those of sane mind who died more than fifteen years ago would likely have a great deal of trouble adjusting to life today. Because of the speed of change, there has been little time for human evaluation. Unquestionably, technology has bestowed convenience and efficiency. But there remain at least three troubling questions: What has been lost? Do the gains balance the losses? Do we humans have innate resources to deal with the significant losses? WHO ASKED THAT QUESTION? is divided into two parts. Part I points to the losses, and Part II describes those intangible, human abilities which will be necessary in the future.
