About the Author

I am Professor May Abdul Muhsin Al-Doori. I was born in Baghdad, Iraq, on February 10, 1953. I graduated as BSc in Biological Sciences/Microbiology from Department of Biological Sciences/College of Science/Baghdad University-Baghdad/Iraq I specialized in the fi eld of genetic engineering and microbiology at the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, in 1982. I was also a Senior Fulbright Scholar at the University of Illinois, United States, in 2000. I fulfi lled many research and teaching posts, and I was a member of committ ees in my fi eld of specialization. The book Dictionary of Scientifi c Terms (Part 1) - Biology and (Part 2) - Genetic Engineering was writt en to fulfi ll the needs of students who only understand Arabic and English
