The author's purpose is to translate, so to speak, the heavy and archaic language in Genesis into a form that would make the stories contained in that book appeal to readers of all ages, but particularly to younger readers. There are 19 poems comprising 255 verses in the book.

About the Author

He is a retired senior officer of the Irish Civil Service. He has always been interested in Poetry and Verse since childhood and has composed a number of poems to celebrate friends' birthdays, weddings, anniversaries etc. as well as humurous political, work-related and miscellaneous verses. About two years ago he set himself a challenge. Could he write the Bible stories contained in the Book of Genesis, in verse form? He rose to the challenge and successfully completed the task in 2012. The result is the work herein. He lives in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland
