The poems and prose in this book by H. G. Moser were selected from a series of chapbooks produced over the past thirty years. The poems, written in free verse, and prose pieces draw on experiences of his early life in Pennsylvania and New Hampshsire, later years in California and Montana, and travels throughout North America. As a fishery biologist, the author's poems reflect a naturalist's perspective and the interplay between art and science. Included in the book is a memoir of a solo backpacking trip to Denali National Park, Alaska, in the summer of 1976. Embedded in this memoir are six poems written during two weeks of wandering in that place of unforgettable beauty.
