Synopsis

Observations of the Passing Scene offers challenging insight into multiple diverse topics. Why do voters choose a Democrat or Republican for President? What is really the problem with baseball? Which are the most important decisions? How to start a small group ministry? Or, Does the prohibition of idol worship still apply in the twenty first century? These and many other topics provide a view of the world from a different perspective and thereby create an opportunity to learn and to grow. Observations of the Passing Scene is proof there is much to learn just by paying attention to the events we encounter, stories people tell, or books we read. These essays originated from that premise and are intended to challenge the reader to THINK to PONDER to ACCEPT to REJECT and then do something. That is, to take what is here and transport the new learning into a personal context. Observations of the Passing Scene also is a rich source for group discussions. Any one of the topics will provide endless opportunity for diverse views to be expressed. In that expression, groups can grow together, solve problems previously unsolvable, or simply enjoy the discussion.
