About the Author

Born in 1936 in New Jersey to Netherlands émigrés, grew up in a broken home, started learning to read before entering grade school, started creative writing sporadically as a child, and wrote his first book a few years after college graduation (a small local history). Initially limited his writing to technical works, later published books of poetry, followed by texts in chemistry, solid rocket motors, and newspaper and magazine columns and articles for more than 40 years. His books on canine orthopedics, and the German Shepherd Dog breed resulted in his being invited to lecture and to judge shows, eventually doing so in more than 30 countries (many of them numerous times). His long dream of writing a “War and Peace”-scale narrative was realized with the two-volume novel, “Conflict.” He can be reached at Mr.GSD[at]juno.com.
