Richard A. Detert, ph.D. is a health education and health promotion specialist known for his blend of knowledge and interactive teaching style. For over thirty years he has presented stress reduction programs to teachers, business professionals, prison inmates, athletes, care workers, and hundreds of others interested in reducing stress. He is co-author of several books on reducing stress, including How to Relax: A Holistic Approach to Stress Management, and Teaching Stress Management and Relaxation Skills: An Instructor's Guide. Dr. Detert is also a certified T'ai Chi Chih and Seijaku instructor, and has preparation in Spring Forest Qigong and Qi-ssage. Dr. Detert holds a doctorate in Education from Southern Illinois University and for twenty-five years was a professor in the Department of Health Education and Health Promotion at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He also has eight years of High School teaching. He is owner of New Dimensions Consulting also located in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
