Meredith Root-Bernstein has a PhD in Ecology and currently resides in Santiago, Chile. Graduating with an AB from Princeton University she won two awards for poetry, the Theodore Weiss Award for a promising young poet, and the Bain-Swiggett Poetry Prize for best single poem. While at Oxford University she was awarded funding from the St. Edmund Hall Masterclass Fund for three consecutive years to further her studies in poetry and translation.
