Johnny Henry grew up in a little town in Mississippi, learning about the work ethic early in life. A Vietnam Era Veteran of the US Armed forces, Mr. Henry attended The University of Southern Mississippi where he earned his degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology. His early experiences gave him the vision and fortitude to express life in a poetic way. A long time student of the inspirational, spiritual and motivational, he gives support and advice where it is needed. Mr. Henry is also a counselor, professional speaker, and drug and alcohol prevention specialist in Laurel, Mississippi and the author of two published books The Adventures of Astro-Kid & Space dog Leroy and Success: The Inner Treasures of Life. A 2007 Poet of the Year, Mr. Henry is also a member and advocate for the Mississippi Arts Commission for artists and writers. Currently Mr. Henry has three books pending / and is excited about his future works.
