Katherine P. Bush, retired media specialist of Richton Separate School District, received an education specialist degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in 1978; and Master of Science degree in elementary education and educational media in 1968; and a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education in 1963 from the same university. Educational honor society memberships include the Kappa Delta Pi (former member) and Delta Kappa Gamma (member since 1970). Honors received are colonel and aide-de-camp, Mississippi governor's staff, 1972; Student Council Advisor of the Year, 1986; a volunteer for the Foreign Mission Board as a missions meeting missionary kid teacher in France, 1989; Woman of Distinction, Delta Kappa Gamma, 2001; and past president, Delta Kappa Gamma, 1998-2000. Volunteer services include president of the board of directors of the Richton Adult Literacy Program; member of the board of directors of the Mississippi Lung Association; librarian, First Baptist Church, Richton, Mississippi; member, Sunday school teacher, and secretary of the Senior Adult Organization at Sand Hill Baptist Church, Ellisville, Mississippi.
