<b>Aek Phakiti</b> is an Associate Professor in TESOL in the Sydney School Education and Social Work, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, at the University of Sydney, Australia.; He is author of <i>Strategic Competence and EFL Reading Test Performance</i> (2007) and <i>Experimental Research Methods in Language Learning</i> (2014), a multi-authored book <i>Teaching Academic Writing</i> (2009), a <i>Quantitative Methods for Second Language Research: A problem-solving approach</i> ( 2016) (co-authored book with Carsten Roever) and edited books <i>Continuum Companion to Research Methods in Applied Linguistics</i> (2010, co-editor Brian Paltridge) and <i>Research Methods in Applied Linguistics: A Practical Resource</i> (2015, co-editer Brian Paltridge). He has published his research in <i>Language Testing</i>, <i>Language Learning</i>, <i>Language Assessment Quarterly</i>. He is currently Associate Editor of <i>Language Assessment Quarterly: An International Journal</i>. He was Editor of and now is Associate Editor of the <i>University of Sydney Papers in TESOL</i> and has served as a member of editorial board of <i>JALT</i> <i>Journal</i> (Japanese Association of Language Teaching) and <i>Language Assessment Quarterly.</i> With Carsten Roever, he has guest edited a Special Issue of <i>Language Assessment Quarterly</i>
