is Anisah Hassan's personal testament to the suffering and plight of people living with Stiff-Person/Moersch Woltman Syndrome. The ravages of the condition must be brought into the public view, given the misconceptions and lack of knowledge surrounding the disorder. The author offers her first-hand account in the form of a narrative, with personal impressions, anecdotes, experiences, and reflections. In trying to demystify SPS, the author endeavors to provide inspiration and hope. The human experience is a universal, not a singular phenomenon, from which no individual is immune. Therefore, Anisah also reaches out to victims of Multiple Sclerosis, cancer, accidents, and anyone enduring isolation occasioned by illness. This introspective journey is a tool to give a voice to those suffering from SPS and other neurologic conditions.

Anisah Hassan hails from St. Louis, Missouri. She is a first-time author with a mission to light a torch to raise research funds in furtherance of a cure for the rare neurologic disorder, SPS. She hopes to raise the level of awareness about the devastating effects of this little-known condition and, in so doing, give a voice to those sufferers who reach out for assistance and understanding. Anisah has worked in the children's services arena and, for over ten years, nurtured abused and neglected children in a residential treatment facility. She has also worked as a caseworker in a transitional housing program, where she helped the homeless secure permanent housing, drug rehabilitation, and education. Anisah's goal is to motivate others and to find solutions for those in crisis. She serves as a counselor to friends and others in need. Her writing is a testament to her purpose of making the most of life's challenges and serving as an exemplar of hope. Partial proceeds will go to the Moersch Woltman/Stiff Person Syndrome Research Funds (NORD)
