About the Author

Charlotte Lyman Stokes began her career as an elementary teacher. She went on to pursue a career in business and has now been retired many years. She attended the University of Wyoming, taught in North Dakota, and was involved in business in Wyoming, Indiana, Illinois and Northern Virginia. She had two children and three grandchildren. For many years Charlotte lived in Northern Virginia, where the children grew up and where her husband, an attorney, lived until his death. After her retirement from business she moved to the Southwest and now lives in Tempe, Arizona. She feels a good story can be enjoyed while it includes messages that can stimulate both thought and family discussion. This activity can help determine and formulate values and standards for readers beginning early in life.
