Chapter One

Journey of a Life Time

For many years, it has been my desire to visit the Holy Land, to walk where-Jesus walked. When Pastor Benny Hinn announced that he was lowering the price to tour Israel in 2007 so that more people could come, I decided that was my time to go. I prayed that I would be in God's perfect will and that my journey would be exceptional and without incident.

The Holy Spirit told me that my flight would be like riding on the wings of an eagle, and when the plane landed, it would be like landing on a cloud!

It happened just like the Holy Spirit said it would, going and coming back. Praise the Lord!

My daughter, Lorraine, agreed to go with me since it was thirty years since I traveled out of the country and I had never traveled alone. I also took my seven angels with me.

Our flight going was #008-new beginnings and our flight coming back was #007, God's perfect number!

The flight was eleven hours long, over 6,000 miles, and traveling at speed of 575 mph at 38,000 miles above earth. I trusted God!

We arrived in Tel Aviv at 6:45 p.m. and we were bused to Tiberius on the western shore of Galilee to attend a welcome to Israel reception sponsored by the Benny Hinn Ministry. Very exciting!

I am addressing the senior saints like me. This is not a tour for the weak or faint-hearted. Going through customs and immigrations is very tiring; long lines, inconveniences, and standing long periods of time. I could not have done it without my daughter's help. Praise God!

As we toured Israel, we encountered soldiers with guns strapped over their shoulders and we drove by houses bombed in the war. We also drove pass the long great barricade the Israelis built with electric wires at the top to keep the missiles out. But God is faithful, and there were no incidents while we were there. Hallelujah!

The next day we visited Capernaum, the home of Peter the Apostle, where Jesus did many miracles, and then to Tabgin, where Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes; and on to the Mount of the Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount.

We sailed on the Sea of Galilee. Our guide told us that Israel had not had rain for six months. We all prayed and it began to rain as we were praying on the boat. The next day it rained all day into the night. The drought over Israel was broken! Praise God!

Our eastern seaboard is also experiencing a drought. People, we need to pray!

Israel is a beautiful country, surrounded on three sides by the Golan Heights. The air is clean and pure, and the people are very friendly.

We visited Jerusalem and Bethlehem, the place of Jesus birth. Bethlehem is controlled by the Palestinians, but we were allowed to visit and shop there. Our bus driver, Morcodai, and our guide, Beerta, were not allowed to go into Bethlehem because they are Israelis.

We viewed the old city of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, where Jesus spoke to His disciples, then ascended to Heaven!

We saw olive trees that dated back to the time of Christ!

We walked in the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus tarried after the Last Supper.

We visited the empty tomb where Jesus was buried and yes, it is empty. He is risen! Hallelujah!!!

We took Holy Communion at the Garden Tomb and read the Scriptures and had prayer.

We entered the city through St. Stephen's Gate to visit the Pool of Bethesda where Jesus healed the man lamed for 38 years!

We followed the footsteps of Jesus along the DeLa Rosa to the place of Jesus crucifixion! Crucifixion! How the Scriptures came alive to us!

The next day we visited the western wall, the only remaining structure built by King Herod. People from all faiths come to pray there. Prayers go up 24 hours per day, seven days a week, winter and summer, without ceasing! It is a miracle! It is a very Holy place.

The next day, we traveled by bus to the Jordan River, where John the Baptist baptized Jesus over 2,000 years ago.

Pastor Benny Hinn baptized over a thousand people that day. As I came up out of the water, an old Negro Spiritual came to mind. "The Jordan River is deep and cold. It chilled my body, but saves the Soul." Hallelujah!

We visited the Upper Room where we spent intimate time in worship and prayer.

We also visited the Church of the Nativity, the place where Jesus was born; the Dead Sea which is the lowest place on earth, and is known for its rich minerals.

We saw many wonderful things and shared many experiences; met lots of people from many countries, and shared great times.

We shall never forget Israel, its great people, its history, and its food!

I thank God for blessing us to take this pilgrimage to the Holy Land, and bringing us back safely. He deserves all the Glory and Honor!

The presence of God is so very strong over Israel, and I do believe Jesus is coming soon!

Several people have asked me, "Did you see Jesus while you were there?"

I told them, "No, I did not see Him with my physical eyes, but I felt His presence very strong the entire time I was there!

          Katrina
        After The Storm

A killer hurricane named Katrina touched
    Down this morn,
And the biggest disaster America has ever
    Seen was born.
The after effects, which just won't go away
Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the world
    Are in a daze,
When the storm was over, many were dead.
There was no power, no water, and no bread!
The waters kept rising, there was little or
    No help.
New Orleans was swimming in sewerage
    New Orleans was dead!
Rooftops were peppered with people watching
For a helicopter, for a rescue.
Some people were walking in water up to their
Chest, hoping to find a dry place, where
    They could rest.
Dead bodies floating by in the flood, making
    You holler, chilling your blood.
Temperatures rising over 90 degrees, with no
Water to drink, no ice, not even a breeze.
Where are the Army, the Navy, and the Marines?
We want to see boots on the grown, hands
On help, it's been four days please!
We watching T.V. need to see something
    Being done soon.
Is this the same nation that put a
    Man on the moon?
    Pregnant women children, babies, and
Seniors too, were without shelter, water,
    Medicine, or food
Most of the people were looting for water
And food out of desperation, and strife,
Not for greed, but to survive!
    I can't believe what I'm seeing on T.V.
American people crying for water and food,
And no one was heeding the plea.
This is a disgrace; it's unbelievable and vile.
We need to find a better way to help people
    Survive!
Masses of people suffering, standing about,
    "Help us please," they shout!
America helps everyone in distress in distant
    Lands;
Where is the help for our own, right here?
    In this land?
Promises won't do, these people need
Hope; no one seems to know how to
    Help them cope.
We are witnessing a new reality in America
    Today, refugees in the U.S.A.
Anger, violence, and rage must not reign
    Today.
We who call ourselves Christians must stop
Talking and start practicing what we
    Say!
Then the world will believe we are who
    We say.
What will we learn from this?
    Will it help us grow?
God is watching us here below!

      Selah!

      Be Led Of The Spirit

    Where does Jesus live?
    Does He in you abide?
When you open your mouth, does He speak
    From inside?
Do you see the world through His eyes?
Look on your fellow man with compassion
    Not pride?
Are you being led of the Holy Spirit inside?
    Turning where He says turn
    Walking where He strides?
If you are led of the Holy Spirit
    You can not sin
Because the Holy Spirit reside within.

      Selah!

      Mint Condition

Although the years have taken their toll
I've grown better, not tired or old.
I'm still in mint condition because God's
    Been good to me.
He sent two angels, Goodness and
Mercy to follow me, to ease my
    Burdens and set me free,
I sleep well all night, and get up
    Refreshed.
I take care of all my activities without
    Distress,
If I need any help, Goodness and
Mercy are there to help me, if I am
    In despair!
The Lord is my Sheppard I shall not want
I am blessed with so many blessings I
    Can hardly count.
I can see, I can hear, I can walk and talk
God's given me a slice of heaven right here
    On earth.
When my journey here on earth is done
Look out, my eternal life in heaven has
    Just begun!

      Selah!

      Remnant

There's a remnant of people God holds in
    His hands
They live and move about as he commands
When the Gospel is preached, souls are saved
Then the end will come without delay
Come out from among them we are told
We are not supposed to be in harmony
    With the world!
Holiness is just disciplining our lives
And obeying the word to the glory
    Of God
There are some things you just don't do
And God is able to see you through.

      Let Freedom Ring

Let freedom ring over the land of the
Free and the home of the brave.
May we always remember and honor our
Brave soldiers who gave, their strength
And honor , their loyalty and their lives.
So that we and our children can live in
    Freedom all our lives.
The freedoms we enjoy are not free,
They have a very high price
Which many of our gallant soldiers
Have paid for with their lives,
Long may old Glory wave, over the land
Of the free and the home of the brave!

      Selah!

      Think About It
        Selah

Jesus is walking our streets today!
He's watching and listening to what we
    Do and say
If you think that Jesus may be watching
    You
Would you change what you say or what
    You do?
Would you yell or curse on your cell phone?
Would you act reckless as you drive home?
Would you be patient on your way to the
Mall even if the traffic is backed
    Up to a crawl?
If Jesus came down your street and
    Knocked on your door
Would you let him in or hide behind
    The closed door?
Jesus is walking the streets of our cities
    Today.
Open the door of your heart - He's
    Coming your way!

      Selah!

      Sound The Alarm

In these past weeks of hurricanes and
Temperatures souring 90 to 100 degrees
Can you discern the signs of the times
    And what's to be?
God is igniting a fire in you and me
He's turning up the heat for all the
    World to see.
    Are you ready and willing?
    Are you spreading the Word
    Watchman what of the night?
Sound the alarm, don't sit idly by.
It's the midnight hour, can't you hear
    The cry?
I see a great crowd of people
    Moving toward the throne.
Hoping to receive their gowns of
    Salvation, robes of righteousness,
    And their crowns.
Will you be in that number, rushing
    Toward the throne.
Or will Jesus say, depart from me,
I know you not, and you are left alone

      Selah

      Now Is Today

Every body wants to go to heaven, but
    Nobody wants to die
Repent of the selfish life style you're
    In.
Turn from your wicked past and sins,
Let the Love of Jesus enter in.
You can live like the devil here below,
But to hell, when you die, you will
    Surely go!
It's not God's will that any should
    Perish
But that all should come to the
    Saving knowledge of our lord
    And Savior Jesus Christ!
Today is the day of Salvation
    Today is the acceptable time

      Selah!

      Love

God is Love, He breaths out love
He is watching over us from above
He is in the air we breathe
The flowers that bloom and the lush
    Green trees.
God is in the sun, that shines so bright
The luminous glow of a full moon at night
The stars that twinkle so bright,
Like diamonds in the sky at night!
Those rain drops of love that are falling
    Today
Are big dewdrops of love, sent from
    Heaven our way.
These are all expressions of God's
    Abundant love,
Straight from the throne of God,
    A gift from above.

      Selah!

      Well Done!

When I've done my very best
The God I serve will do the rest
He'll give me more than I can dream
    Or even ask.
If I trust Him and obey
He'll turn my darkness into day.
    And say - well done.
    Well done - well done.
I can hear my Savior say well done.
When I've done the best I can
I know He will understand and say
Well done good and faithful servant
    Well done!

      Halleluiah

      Romans 8:11

Rom. 8:11 But if the spirit of Him that raised up
Jesus from the dead dwell in you,
He that raised up Christ from the dead
Shall also quicken your mortal bodies by
His spirit that dwelleth in you!

Children listen to the promptings of the
    Holy Spirit
They come straight from the heart of
    God.
He's alive, he lives inside you
Don't ignore Him, He's there to guide you
Keep you on the path that leads to life
He's your comforter and helper in times
    Of trouble and strife.
    When your situation seems hopeless
And you feel there is no way out
Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to lead you
    From darkness into light.
    Be aware of Him
    Acknowledge Him.
He'll help you and give you insight

      Selah!

      Treasures of Pleasures

God blesses us with many treasures
    From here and above,
A treasure house of goodies we can
    Cherish and love,
From the earth, the sea, and mountain
    Caves;
    And from the heavens above
    Diamonds and pearls, rubies and
    Emeralds, silver and gold, and
    Stardust from above.
He gives us such an abundance of
    Treasures to brighten our lives
    And to love.

      Selah!

      Sound The Alarm

    Every where, every where
    Sound the alarm
    Spread the word every where
    The King is coming!
    The King is coming!
We'll keep on shouting every where
    Say a prayer, be aware
Say a prayer, be aware, say a prayer
    The King is coming!
    The King is coming!
    And we won't stop shouting
    We won't stop praying
    We won't stop praising
Until our King comes every where!

      Freedom

In this life be set free
Beyond conversion is where we should be
Be a disciple of Jesus to all you meet
Show them how to lay down their burdens at
    His feet
Become mature in the word with help from
    Above
Go beyond going to church, become the
    Church here and now.
Don't get offended if the word hits home
The word is a two-edge sword, it's intended
    To cut to the bone.
Know the truth and it will set you free
    Then you'll experience freedom from
    All negativity!

      Selah!

      The Bible

Do you have a Family Bible on display
    In your home,
Gathering dust on a table, but left alone?
Open it up and read it each day, and see
    What God has to say.
He'll tell you how in the beginning He
    Created the worlds.
Then He created Adam and Eve to live in
    The garden and rule
But when they fell short and sinned,
He made a way of escape so they could
    Start over again.
This was His plan since time began, if
They failed He would send the Son of man,
That through His finished work on the
Cross, not one of His children would
    Be lost.
This is still God's promise to fallen
    Man
Believe on His son Jesus and enter in
    The Promised land.

      Selah!

      Lord I Thank You

Philip. 4:3"I can do all things through Christ
    Which strengths me."

I am washed in His forgiveness
    Cleansed by His blood,
Emersed in His mercy, grace and love,
    I am forgiven!
    I am set free!
Now I can forgive others, as Christ has
    Forgiven me!

        Thank you Lord!
          Amen.
