About the Author

Beverly Adams received her under- graduate degree in Psychology from Barton College in Wilson, N.C. She attended Saint Augustine's College in Raleigh, N.C. for two years. During this time she was given the opportunity to do her internship with Wilson County Mental Health Clinic as well as working at the North Carolina State Mental Health Facility. She has worked with the Wilson County School System as an educator. Further work experience includes two years with the North Carolina Department of Corrections and the State of Florida as a Parole and probation officer. After receiving her Masters Degree in Mental Health, she spent several years working as an individual and family counselor with Devereux Family Treatment Center. She has worked with individuals convicted of serious crimes to include, murder, kidnapping and sexual battery. On this journey of faith she worked as a invention specialist facilitating groups of individuals suffering from substance abuse and related problems and also severe depression. On this journey to find the light she worked at the Center for Drug Free Living. Beverly wanted to work more effectively with minorities, women in addiction and recovery and effective assessments among others. Beverly also attended University of Central Florida focused on relative subjects to include Psychology/Women in Action.
