Elizabeth Prosser: A writer for over 30 years, Editor of the British Business Bulletin for the Anglo-Dutch Chamber of Commerce (1979-1981).Published author of the book "Stranger in the Hague" (1983) and many economic pamphlets and trade reports for the US Department of Commerce, the Hague (1983-9). Speech Writer for the US Department of Commerce and Editor of USA Trade Today published on behalf of the US Department of Commerce, The Hague (1987-89).Freelance writer 1990-2002. Editor of the West Wales Crohn's and Colitis UK Branch Newsletter. Contributor to the Phoenix (The journal of the American Ostomy Association). An Ostomate for 6 years, bed-bound for the last three, (having had two stoma operations, awaiting a third operation). I was determined to make the world a better place for ostomates everywhere.
This book would not have been possible without co-author, husband Philip Prosser, also a writer for over 20 years for a number of trade publications in the Transport and Agricultural field, now my full time carer and co-author. He helped not only with the writing, but also in his support in my every day life. He is there for me when illness suddenly struck. I am, first and foremost an ostomate living everyday with the constant reminder and restrictions of a "Bag for Life". Severe fibromyalgia and epilepsy and a stroke in addition to crohn's meant that Philip had to learn to take my dictation and improve his typing skills! My stepson drew all the cartoons so it was a real family venture. The website will introduce Philip's other major project, "The Gastronauts", a group of ostomy puppets to amuse and help child ostomates.
