Synopsis

The three-hundred year old Wizard of White Hill is getting old, and he has long since gotten cranky. With his conjuring slipping, he sets out to find a likely youth to take on as an apprentice. However, a thorough search of Longmarch doesn't turn up much to his liking, nothing but a cheeky and reluctant young servant named Forthright. Back at the castle, the wizard has some unorthodox teaching methods which include insisting the lad scuff his feet and wear a dirty old cap that must be centuries old. The wizard gives Forthright free run of the castle, with one exception. Forthright is never, ever, under any circumstances, to go into the tower...where nightly he hears a maiden's terrified screams!

About the Author

Andrew and William have been friends since high school in Rudyard, Michigan. They have led separate but parallel lives, Andrew in Scotland, and William in the USA. Both served in the Navy of their respective countries, both married in their thirties and had children at about the same time. In their youth they spent their time putting together humorous audio tapes, writing, and generally making nuisances of themselves. Having worked well creatively together in those halcyon days of the late 1970s, they decided to try writing a book together as grown ups. With manuscripts and ideas flying back and forth in emails between Scotland and Harbor Beach, Michigan, they wrote the Wizard's apprentice in the latter half of 2010. It was great fun to write and they both hope that readers will find it just as entertaining.
