Simson L. Garfinke received a PhD in Computer Science from MIT, and a master s in Science in Journalism from Columbia University. L is chief of the Center for Disclosure Avoidance Research at the US Census Bureau. He holds seven patents and has published dozens of articles on computer security and digital forensics. He is an ACM Fellow, an IEEE Senior Member and author or co-author of 14 books on computing. He is also an award-winning journalist, who today mostly writes for MIT's Technology Review Magazine. Rachel Grunspan serves as the Chief Strategy Officer for a digital futures focused organization within the CIA s Directorate of Digital Innovation.
