This book represents the best of the last 20 years of Righter's Top Ten humor columns. This handy reference guide provides over 1,500 themed one-liners for winning your audience with snappy humor. Properly selected, these funny lines will help you become a more entertaining communicator by helping you drop funny observations and self-deprecating humor into any presentation. There is comedy for everyone in these pages, masters of ceremonies, topic masters, roasters and roast masters, evaluators, and many others. There are dozens of columns in this book which provide "savers," or comebacks that you can use to turn disaster into laughter, such as when a joke bombs, or you receive minimal applause, get dinged for an UH, and many other awkward situations. Some of the following humor is more appropriately told on yourself or used during a celebrity roast rather than slung at a fellow Toastmaster. These selected topics also make handy regular humor columns for newsletters... short, on target, and easily customized to your group. In addition, there are a lot of great humor themes in these lists which are perfect for table topics sessions, excellent material for use in celebrity roasts, and some bonus humor in the form of holiday poems and humor for special events.

In 1980, Karl Righter of Orlando won Toastmasters International's Humorous Speech Contest at the highest level with a hilarious talk entitled Laugh at Yourself, Others Are. His message was simple - that the ability to laugh at ourselves is crucial to our sanity during life's inevitable tough times. This achievement launched his professional speaking career. Since then, Karl Righter has been entertaining and inspiring audiences as a keynote speaker, corporate trainer, master of ceremonies, roastmaster, humorist, musician, and published author. For over 25 years, he has presented his humor workshop, How To Win Your Audience With Bombproof Humor, to thousands of attendees at district, regional, and international Toastmasters conventions as well as at public workshops and seminars. His humor columns, upon which this book is based, have appeared in a variety of publications for over 20 years, including Toastmaster Magazine. In 2001, Karl Righter was presented with a Presidential Citation for Lifetime Achievement at the Toastmasters International Convention in Anaheim, California.
