Inge Kuenkler was born in 1932 in Schwerte/Ruhr, Germany, and lived there until 1956 when she married her High School friend Helmut Etzbach and emigrated to the United States. The couple lived in Queens, New York and raised three children, two girls and a boy. When her youngest child started school, Inge entered Queens College and studied Philosophy, graduating in 1985 with a B.A. in Philosophy and in 1991 with a M.A. in Political Science. She also attended a seminary and was ordained as an Interfaith Minister. . In 1997 Inge Kuenkler-Etzbach built a small house in Copake Falls, NY, and has been spending a good time of each year in Columbia County.
