About this title

About the Author

I was born in Moorhead, Minnesota and lived my entire life in Minnesota. My husband Ted and I have been married 28 years and have three children, two of which joined us on our sailing adventure. I have always loved entertaining and cooking, and enjoyed the challenges of cooking nutritious meals while sailing. Traveling and learning the language in the countries we visited gave a wonderful addition of culture to look back on and add to life. Visiting different countries and cultures throughout our married life gave me an expansive view of food and customs, which show up in most of the dishes that I cook and serve to friends. I have been in the food industry since I was 15, and love running my own catering company. When we took on this endeavor to sail, our friends were very skeptical of our abilities, thus pushing us ever further to accomplish this challenge. Both Ted and I are very determined to finish what we start, so this part of our life was amazing. Writing a book of our family adventure was the icing on the cake!
