AUTHOR'S BIOGRAPHY Jonathan Gans taught fourth and fifth grade predominantly Hispanic students at Charles R. Hadley public elementary school in Miami, Florida for eleven years before moving to Montana where he and his wife -the jazz and tap artist Katherine Kramer- run their Rancho Picante, breeding and raising Quarter Horses for Reining performance and competitions. At a mile high and 25 miles outside of Bozeman, their mountain location provides a long sought-after retreat for writing and choreography, as well as dancers', musicians', and artists' workshops hosted in the Ranch's Crazyview Studio.
