No one wants to get old...but we've all got to do it. What if there was a way to use the aging process as a catalyst for bringing your family closer together, to heal old wounds, and discover new things about each other?". What if there were a way to infuse the aging process with cooperation, empowerment, and appreciation? Aging doesn't have to mean the loss of independence or becoming a burden to loved ones. Loving and caring for someone who is aging doesn't have to be scary and frustrating. It is not the aging process that is the problem. It is the lack of understanding, communication, and a plan of action that causes stress in the lives of adult children and their senior parents' when crisis occurs and decisions need to be made.Working with seniors and their families for ten years led me to write this book to help people avoid the struggles I witnessed. If you have ever thought about your own aging and asked yourself "what will I do when...?" then It's Between You and Me will help answer those questions. This book will take both the senior and the adult child on a rich and meaningful journey to the conversation that everyone wants to have but few are able to request. This will lead to harmony, greater respect, and clear expectations of each other's desires. Your relationship will be enriched and peace of mind will be the gift. When you complete It's Between You and Me, you will have:A deeper understanding of the aging processAn honest assessment of the needs and desires of both the senior and adult children A way to heal past hurts and personal barriersAn awareness of available resourcesA personal plan of action that will ensure the lifestyle you want as you ageA commitment from each other to see the plan through And so much more...
