This tale is based on a true story and was written for my son and his family. But they are not the only ones who have lived what you will read on these pages.
There are many families who suffer unnecessarily due to hard feelings that separation and divorce can bring about. Divorce is not only hard on children; it is also a traumatic experience for the adults, even though they often will not admit it.
My goal in writing this book is to provide everyone with the "recipe" that worked for my family and can work for everyone.
We all have the power to change our lives at any point we choose. We have the power to be anything we desire-be it happy, sad, or even mad-we ourselves have the control.
Life does not just happen to us; we make it happen for ourselves.

Chapter One

Once upon a time, in a kingdom not so far away, two very special people, the Lovebirds, met and fell in love.

They laughed, they loved, they cried, they shared their past, lived for the present and dreamed of their future.

They decided to share their lives with each other forever and ever and even though there were some rough times they wanted more than anything to have a family together.

Chapter Two

And so, in somewhat short order, the Lovebirds became Mr. and Mrs. and soon thereafter two chicks were born and they became the four of them.

They were indeed a beautiful, happy family. It made other people happy to see them and to be around them.

Everything in their life seemed perfect and so they started down the road to the land of their dreams building their life together.

Chapter Three

It was a winding, pot-holed road to be sure, not the highway to heaven they had dreamed of.

Sometimes they got lost, taking a wrong turn, and had to find their way back to the main road but they never changed their course and they didn't let obstacles get in their way.

They were even more determined to have their happy family and they wanted to stay together and so they continued to dream their perfect dream, traveling down the road as a family.

Chapter Four

Now somewhere on this journey to the land of their dreams they encountered what could only be imagined was an evil spell and what was even worse, they never even realized what was really happening.

The journey to the land of their dreams got stopped in its tracks.

The Lovebirds soon began to dream of journeys that weren't the same anymore and each wanted to take different roads to reach the land of their dreams.
