JOHN LASSETER (Foreword) is a two-time Academy Award®-winning director, chief creative officer at Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, and principal creative officer at Walt Disney Imagineering. MICHAEL BIERUT (Introduction) is a graphic designer, design critic, and educator. He studied graphic design at the University of Cincinnati, and has been a partner in the New York office of Pentagram for over fifteen years. In addition to co-founding the website Design Observer and writing several books on the topic of graphic design, Michael is a Senior Critic in Graphic Design at the Yale School of Art, where he has been lecturing since 1993.
