Deanna York has taught chemistry for the past twenty years. She has been at Ben Davis High School since 1997. Prior to this she taught at Bloomingdale Senior High School in Valrico, Florida and at Lakeland Senior High School in Lakeland, Florida. Mrs. York teaches Advanced Placement Chemistry, International Baccalaureate Chemistry and Honors Chemistry. Mrs. York's forte is turning lectures and demonstrations into hands-on laboratory investigations and literacy activities. She uses inquiry labs for discovery, modified cookbook labs to teach content and procedures and problem based labs for authentic assessment. The students in Mrs. York's first year chemistry classes experience 100 hands-on laboratory investigations and activities per year!
